Juvenile Diabetes
For our passion project, we are focusing on spreading diabetes awareness. We are teaching classes in the 8th and 7th grade about diabetes, so they can understand what it is like. We also used a jeopardy to engage them in the topic with questions from our slideshow that we made to inform the kids about how juvenile diabetes works. In the next week we will teach the other 7th grade classes and the other half of the 8th grade. We also taught a 6th grade class in TASPA. They were very engaged in the topic and promised to spread the word about this powerful message we are trying to send. Hopefully people will understand that diabetes is not just a disease, but a lifestyle for some people.
