Discrimination and Stereotyping
My topic for my Passion Project is Stereotyping and Discrimination. I chose this topic because it happens to be something that happens on a daily almost on a worldwide level. Discrimination and Stereotyping is also just a bad thing in general. It is just something that's just a bad thing well even though there are some cases where stereotypes can be good. Stereotyping can cause a lot of problems since it can give people a negative view of one race. I sent out a poll to every class and teacher in our middle school and collected responses on how people view Stereotyping. The results of the poll had shown me how much people have seen and or viewed stereotyping or discrimination, my first question was, "Do you believe stereotyping is a problem?" to this question 87% percent of people believed it was 8.7% said maybe 4.3% said no. Everyones' worded responses were along the lines of "It makes us quick to judge people that we don't know." or "It changes our view on people we may or may not know personally." My goal of this project was to make everyone aware of the things stereotyping can cause and prove how important it is to not discriminate or stereotype.
